Cook County Minimum Wage Ordinance Result Update

June 28th Update

At the June 27, 2017 Village Board meeting the Village Board considered an Ordinance opting-out of the Cook County Minimum Wage and Sick Leave requirements. The Board voted 6-1 in favor of opting out of the minimum wage requirements and 5-2 in favor of opting out of the sick leave requirements. Although the Village Board voted to opt-out of the Cook County requirements at this time, the Board did request that the issues be studied and discussed in more detail at the committee level. Such a review will allow the Village Board to revisit the issue once additional data has been gathered.

On June 13, 2017 the Village Board introduced an Ordinance opting out of the Cook County Minimum Wage and Sick Leave Requirements. The Ordinance will be up for adoption at the June 27, 2017 Village Board meeting at 7:30 p.m. Below are relevant documents that have been provided to the Village Board for their consideration.
