Home Occupations

A home occupation shall be permitted as accessory to any dwelling unit in accordance with the following standards: (a) The home occupation shall be carried on wholly within the principal building on the lot. There shall be no exterior display, or outdoor storage of materials or equipment, and no exterior indication of the home occupation or other variation from the residential character of the building. (b) Only persons who are members of the family residing on the lot shall be employed by or engaged in the home occupation. (c) The home occupation shall not involve the receipt or delivery of merchandise, goods, or equipment other than by U.S. Mail, United Parcel Service, Federal Express, or similar carriers that typically deliver packages to residences. (d) No perceptible noise, odor, smoke, electrical interference, or vibration shall emanate from the dwelling unit in which the home occupation functions (e) No home occupation shall provide service or instruction simultaneously to a group of more than four persons while such persons are present in the dwelling unit. (f) The required off-street parking for any dwelling unit within which a home occupation is conducted shall include, in addition to the residential off-street parking requirement of such dwelling unit, such additional off-street parking for the occupation conducted therein as may be required by the Zoning Ordinance.
