Miscellaneous Finance Items/Cashiering

A number of miscellaneous items may be obtained at the cashier's area in the Finance Department:

Visitors Parking Permits:

Residents who reside on streets that are permit only may acquire temporary visitor parking permits. These permits are valid for one day at a time and are available in books of ten at no charge. These permits are not pre-dated and can be obtained in advance and used on an as needed basis. Residents who would like to acquire permanent street parking permits may do so through the Finance Department located in Village Hall (proof of residency is required).

Refuse and Recycling:

A variety of items related to the Village's refuse and recycling program may be obtained at the cashier's window in the Finance Department. When you moved into your home, there should have been a green recycling bin left by the previous owner. If not, a replacement bin is available from the Finance Department at no charge to the resident. The Village will provide for up to two recycling bins per household. Additional bins are available for $5.00 (plus tax) each. A detailed list of materials accepted for the recycling program is also available at the cashier counter. In addition, lids for the recycling bins are available for $3.00 plus tax.

Bus Passes:

A variety of Pace bus passes are available for purchase in the Finance Department, including 30-day passes and 10-ride tickets. Senior citizens, students (high school and younger), and people with disabilities qualify for lower fares. An RTA senior citizen ID application can be completed at the cashier's window at no charge. Bus schedules are available in the Village Hall lobby for free. Promotional Items for sale:
  • Emergency I.d. Bracelets are available at a cost of $5.00 each.
  • George D. Bushnell's book, "Wilmette a History" is also available in paperback for $19.00.
  • Post Cards of Wilmette are available at a cost of 50¢ plus tax.
  • New Resident's Packets are available at the cashier's window at no charge.
  • Senior Citizen Services Book is available at the Village Hall at no charge and online by clicking here.
  • Chamber of Commerce Community Guides are available at the Village Hall at no charge.
  • No Solicitors Signs: The following signs are available at no charge at the cashier's window. "NO SOLICITORS INVITED: "ONLY SOLICITORS REGISTERED IN WILMETTE INVITED" Section 5-5-4 of the Wilmette Village Code regulates solicitors within the village limits. If you want protection for your home as provided by the code, you must post a sign near the main entrance door to the residence indicating your preference.
