Wilmette is fortunate to have excellent public transportation available. Wilmette is served by Metra Railroad service, CTA rapid transit service and Pace bus service as well as having easy access to the Edens Expressway. The Pace bus service wants to remind riders that its service keeps chugging along with routes 421 Wilmette Avenue and 423 Sheridan Road on Saturdays. In addition to its weekday service, Route 421 operates from the intersection of Willow and Wagner Roads in Northfield to the Linden Avenue CTA station in Wilmette on the Purple Line. Riders can catch trains there to Howard Street and the Loop. The route also provides trips to the Wilmette Metra station, Edens Plaza, Loyola Acedemy, New Trier West Center and Northfield Village Hall.

Route 423's Saturday service also extends from Willow and Wagner Roads to the Linden Avenue CTA station. Other facilities served along that route include Northfield Village Hall, the Winnetka Metra station and Plaza del Lago.

Saturday service on Route 421 operates from the intersection of Willow and Wagner roads in Northfield to the Linden Avenue CTA station in Wilmette on the Purple Line. Riders can catch trains there to Howard Street and the Loop. The bus also provides trips to the Wilmette Metra station, Edens Plaza, Loyola Academy and New Trier West Center. Route 423’s Saturday service also extends from Willow and Wagner roads to the Linden Avenue CTA station. Other stops along that route include the Winnetka Metra station and Plaza del Lago.

Saturday service on each route is hourly from the early morning to the early evening so that passengers are conveniently served no matter what their particular schedules are that day. Trips on Routes 421 and 423 are only $1.75, transfers are 25¢, and greater savings can be achieved through the purchase of a Pace 10-Ride Ticket or monthly pass.
