The Health Department's primary function is to protect and promote health and prevent disease. The Health Department provides for the sanitation and nuisance abatement of the environment, the surveillance, monitoring and control of communicable disease, community health education and information, and direct personal health services. The Health Department enforces and observes all State and County laws, rules and regulations and all Local ordinances pertaining to the preservation of public health.
