Illinois voters may vote early – before the November 6, 2012 Presidential Election – without needing a reason or excuse to do so. Registered voters can vote early from October 22nd through November 3rd. The times and locations will be determined by the Cook County Clerk and posted on their website,
www.cookcountyclerk.com.
By law, individuals who vote early must display a government-issued photo identification (driver’s license, state identification card or passport) before receiving a ballot.
For the first time in a Presidential Election, Illinois voters can vote by mail with no excuse at all. Mail ballot applications can be downloaded online from the Clerks’ website, completed and mailed in to the Cook County Clerk’s Office. The Clerk’s office will begin mailing ballots around September 27th.
