Forestry Division

The Village of Wilmette is fortunate to have an urban forest that has over 18,000 parkway trees. Of these trees, many are native oaks, which create a rare and special landscape. The Village of Wilmette 's Forestry Division is responsible for taking care of all trees on public property through programs of systematic pruning, removal, planting, disease control and care for sick and damaged trees. With a full-time staff of two certified arborists, it is the Forestry Division's goal to protect these resources and to help insure a healthy urban forest.
