About SNAP – Founded in 2011, Studio North Academy of the Performing Arts, LLC is a full-service performing arts training center, specializing in dance and music. The four dance companies within the studio perform for local community groups and participate in many service projects throughout the year, in addition to performing in festivals and competitions. The combined dance and music studio offers a unique community-building arts experience in a warm and welcoming environment.

The expanded location at 4th & Linden features new, sprung floors for safe dancing, secure buzzer entry, designated homework room for studying, and larger music studio for piano, voice and guitar lessons, in-studio salon events, and recitals. The basement party room and rehearsal space are an added bonus.
Studio North Academy of the Performing Arts, LLC in Wilmette, aka SNAP, is delighted to present its second annual dance festival entitled “Progressions”, at Haven Middle School, 2417 Prairie Ave., Evanston on Saturday, March 11 at 7 pm.
This dance festival features student dance performances from studios in Wilmette, Chicago, Bloomingdale, and Glenview. Pamela Sue Fox, coordinator, remarks, “This dance event is an incredible opportunity for dancers to share the stage with other local performers their age. All of the performing arts should be celebrated, elevated and enjoyed!”
Parent Ed Glicken, whose three daughters will all perform in the event, explained, “SNAP has provided our girls with an amazing community, creative outlet and friendships that will last a lifetime. Although all three of our girls are very different, the caring and very talented instructors have, brought out the best in each of them, and imparted skills that the girls use in other facets of their lives.”
Participating companies include Joel Hall Youth Dance Company, Dance and Music Academy, Mohler Dance, Old Town School of Folk Music, Design Dance, New Trier Kinesis Dance Company, Living By Performing Dance Company, and SNAP Dance Company. Students from SNAP include the Snappies Dance Company, ages 7-10, the SNAP Apprentice Dance Company, and the competitive SNAP CO., ages 10-17.

R & B Dance Center has three competition teams for ages 8-18 and a jazz performance company which performs for various community events. R & B also offers dance classes for ages 3 to adult in ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, hip hop, contemporary, modern, creative movement, acro and dance team/pom.

Dancing is a great form of physical activity and appeals to kids of all ages. The program is a combination of free dance, guided dancing and musical games for ages 3 and higher and their families. Learn line dances such as the Cha Cha Slide, the Wobble and the Nae Nae, and break out into your own creative moves. Registration is per child attending. Adults need not register. This is not a drop-off program — all children must be accompanied by an adult.
