September 21, 2017
Please be advised that the Maple Avenue Bridge will be closed to both traffic and pedestrians beginning October 2, 2017. This is a continuation of the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District’s (MWRD) ongoing bridge rehabilitation project. Both sidewalks of the bridge will be closed in an effort to complete the work this year. The MWRD Contractor has been directed to sequence the work to ensure that one sidewalk is completed and re-opened for pedestrian access as soon as safely practical.
The scope of work will include replacement of sidewalks, incorporation of a bike/golf cart lane on the bridge, structural repairs, and cleaning & painting of the bridge.
A detour route for vehicles, pedestrians, and cyclists will be in place during the bridge closure. Please follow the posted detour signs for the alternate route. Your patience is appreciated as the MWRD will continue to make every effort to complete the work as quickly and efficiently as possible.
Work at the Linden Avenue Bridge shall be completed by September 29, 2017. The MWRD Contractor will begin staging scaffold material in the green space along Maple Avenue, just west of the bridge, towards the end of this week and next week. This work will not impact traffic along the bridge or golf course traffic.
