Community members are encouraged to attend a public open house on Tuesday, March 5 from 4 – 6 p.m. to learn more about the Locust Road Construction project. The project is scheduled to begin on March 11 and involves storm sewer and watermain replacement, roadway reconstruction, sidewalk improvements, and intersection and crosswalk safety enhancements on Locust Road between Wilmette and Lake Avenues. Work will be accomplished in phases and staged in a manner to limit impacts to area schools and residents while providing a safe work zone. Those traveling southbound should expect to be detoured throughout construction, which is scheduled to be completed in November.
The open house will be held in the lobby of Wilmette Junior High School, 620 Locust Road.
