The Wilmette Historic Preservation Commission invites you to a reception celebrating Wilmette’s architectural heritage and honoring the recipients of our annual preservation awards on Thursday, May 30th at 7 p.m. The awards are in the categories of stewardship, restoration, rehabilitation, landscape conservation, sympathetic addition, and streetscape compatibility. Light refreshments will be served.
Pulitzer Prize winner Blair Kamin, the Chicago Tribune’s architecture critic since 1992, will be the guest speaker. A graduate of Amherst College and the Yale School of Architecture, he also had been a fellow at Harvard’s Nieman Foundation for Journalism. Kamin has lectured widely and regularly discusses architecture on television and radio. He is the recipient of more than 40 awards, including the Pulitzer Prize for Criticism.
