Waste Management Mailing to Wilmette Residents

Earlier this week, the Village was made aware of a postcard that was sent from Waste Management to residents informing them of the company’s recent acquisition of Advanced Disposal.

The Village wants to assure you that this acquisition will not result in any changes to the collection services provided to Wilmette residents. Your collection day and all associated fees will remain the same. All residential customers will continue to be billed for collection services by the Village of Wilmette on their water bills. Commercial customers and residents paying for extra services such as an extra toter or second weekly collection, will continue to receive a separate bill from Advanced – the rates for these services will also remain the same. For more information on the Village’s refuse collection program, please click here.

The Village will be working closely with Advanced Disposal and Waste Management during this transition period to continue the high level of service for our residents. Over the next year, Waste Management will start re-branding the Advanced Disposal equipment, so you will start to see Waste Management trucks servicing your residence, and you may receive new Waste Management toters. It is our expectation that you will continue to receive a high level of service from the new collectors, so if you experience any decline in service, or if you have any questions regarding this transition, please contact Wilmette Public Works at 847.853.7500 or pubworks@wilmette.com.
