Human Relations Commission – Black History Month Contest

Recently, the Village reinvigorated the Human Relations Commission (HRC) with a focus on conducting community engagement initiatives and community discussions on various topics. Click here for more information on the Human Relations Commission.

The HRC has decided to start with a project that was a staple of the Commission in years prior, the Black History Month Student Contest! Similar to previous iterations of this contest, the Village is seeking student posters, essays, poems, and multimedia items that celebrate and educate on Black History Month.

Send or bring entries to Wilmette Village Hall, Attn: Human Relations Commission, Village Manager’s Office, 1200 Wilmette Avenue, Wilmette, IL 60091. Contest winners will receive monetary awards and will be recognized at a Wilmette Village Board meeting in the spring.
