Updated Village-Wide Face Mask Policy

On May 13, the CDC announced that “fully vaccinated people can resume activities without wearing a mask or physically distancing, except where required by federal, state, local, tribal, or territorial laws, rules and regulations, including local business and workplace guidance.”

On May 17, the Governor’s Executive Order was revised to reflect the updated CDC guidance. Please see the updated State guidance.

The Village of Wilmette local disaster declaration reflects any changes in the State’s orders and therefore the Village is following updated CDC guidance. Click here to see the most recent local disaster declaration.

COVID-19 continues to be a major public health concern, and many individuals have conditions that put their health at greater risk than normal. Since federal and state guidance do not provide clarity on best practices for reducing the spread of COVID-19, businesses are permitted to require masks in their establishments and we ask that you please continue to wear masks at local businesses that maintain posted signs asking you to wear one as a sign of respect to your friends, neighbors, and community.
