The Construction Team for the Village of Wilmette’s West Side Neighborhood Storage Project is working hard to get the roads, parking, and sidewalks back open and safe in preparation for the Fall school session which begins on August 22nd. Flaggers will manage locations such as the Thornwood Park construction entrances and where activities may impact walking routes. Notable project updates include the following:
- Over 50% of the Storm Trap vault is complete (4.5 million gallons of underground storage at Thornwood Park). The remaining pieces are scheduled to be installed by the end of August.
- Neighborhood Storm Sewers on Hunter Road (north of Lake Avenue) and Greenwood Avenue are nearing completion. Storm sewer installation on Thornwood Avenue will begin soon.
- The Overall Project Substantial Completion milestone is on target for a November 2022 Completion.
