The Wilmette Police Department is scheduled for an on-site assessment as part of a program to renew its accreditation. The purpose of the on-site assessment is to enable outside law enforcement authorities to determine whether or not the Wilmette Police Department is in compliance with all required professional standards.
Administered by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA), the accreditation program requires agencies to comply with state-of-the-art professional standards in four basic areas; policy and procedures, administration, operations, and support services.
As a part of the on-site assessment, Wilmette Police employees and members of the community are invited to offer comments at a public comment session on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at 5:30 PM. The session will be conducted in the Council Chambers of the Wilmette Board of Trustees located on the second floor of Village Hall, 1200 Wilmette Ave, Wilmette, IL.
Wilmette Police employees and the public are also invited to offer comments to the assessment team on Tuesday, December 5, 2017, between the hours of 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM by directly calling (847) 920-3570. Comments can also be sent by fax at 847-256-2739 from now until December 7, 2017
