The MABAS Division 3 Hazardous Material Response Team (HMRT) is a combined effort of MABAS Division 3 personnel who are trained and organized to respond to hazardous material incidents in the North Shore area. Each member is trained in accordance with nationally recommended standards, and continually review their skills with monthly team drills. Drills include classroom training and simulated responses to incidents. The goal of the team is to provide response personnel and equipment necessary to control and mitigate a hazardous materials release. The equipment used for the Hazardous Materials Response Team is housed within the division response squad (HazMat 3), which rotates among the seventeen MABAS Division 3 fire dpeartments on a monthly basis.
