Senior Call-In Program
Many senior citizens who live alone reside within the Village of Wilmette. Often, a friend or relative is not available to check on their well-being daily. In order to better serve the needs of our senior residents and to give them a sense of independence, the Police Department offers a daily call-in program.
To enroll in this program:
- Complete a simple confidential one-page application form and a hold-harmless waiver agreement.
- Furnish the Wilmette Police Department with a key to your home. Your key is securely stored at the Police Department and only used in the event of an emergency.
Once accepted into the program:
- Call the police department at 847-256-1200 every day between 6:00a.m. and 10:00a.m.
- If this call is not received by 10:00a.m., the Police Telecommunicator will call to check on your well being. If there is no answer at that time, an officer will be sent to your home and, using your key, will ascertain whether or not help is needed.
If you are interested in enrolling, click here for the application and waiver. Please bring the two completed forms along with a key to your home to the Police Department, 710 Ridge Rd. Please do not mail the forms and your key.
If you have any questions or are interested in obtaining an application contact Anthony Hersick at 847-853-7553.
