Background and Scope of Work
The general scope of work for the Skokie Boulevard and Lake Avenue Intersection Improvement project includes the following:
- Resurfacing Lake Ave
- Modifications to the intersection geometry
- Pedestrian facility enhancements
- A multi-use path on Skokie Boulevard from Lake Avenue to Illinois Road
Skokie Boulevard and Lake Avenue are under the jurisdiction of the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) and Cook County, respectively. The Village will act as the project lead and manage all phases of the project. Both IDOT and Cook County have provided the Village with letters of understanding confirming their financial participation.
Public Information #2
The Village of Wilmette is hosting a public meeting for the project on May 20, 2021 at 5:00 PM. The purpose of the meeting is present the preferred alternative to the public, present the project schedule, and to seek public input and comments.
The meeting will be conducted virtually, in the interest of public health due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

To participate, please register using the project website above. We welcome you to submit your questions ahead of time. You will also have the opportunity to comment during the meeting utilizing the Q&A function.
The meeting will be conducted in a webinar format, beginning with a presentation, and followed by a public question and answer session. Wilmette staff and consultant representatives will be present to discuss the project and to answer questions received before, during, and after the presentation. Exhibits and a recording of the virtual Public Information Meeting will be available for public viewing following the meeting.
The meeting will be accessible to persons with a disability or lack of internet access. Anyone in need of special assistance and planning to attend the meeting should contact Dan Manis, Village Engineer, at (847) 853-7602 or firstname.lastname@example.org. Paper copies of the presentation and a call-in phone number for the virtual public information meeting will be provided upon request. The opportunity to schedule a time to speak directly with a project team member and review meeting materials in person will be available by appointment to those unable to attend the virtual meeting. All comments received by June 4, 2021 will become part of the Public Information Meeting record.
