Background and Scope of Work
The general scope of work for the Skokie Boulevard and Lake Avenue Intersection Improvement project includes the following:
- Resurfacing Lake Ave
- Minor modifications to the intersection geometry
- Pedestrian safety enhancements
- A multi-use path on Skokie Boulevard north of Lake Avenue
Skokie Boulevard and Lake Avenue are under the jurisdiction of the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) and Cook County, respectively. The Village will act as the project lead and manage all phases of the project. Both IDOT and Cook County have provided the Village with letters of understanding confirming their financial participation.
Public Information Scheduled July 23, 2020 3:30 PM – 5:30 PM
The Village of Wilmette is hosting a public meeting for the project on July 23, 2020 3:30 PM – 5:30 PM. The purpose of the meeting is to introduce the project to the public, present the project schedule, existing conditions and proposed improvement alternatives, and to seek public input and comments regarding the project.
Attendance will be limited to 50 people at one time, including Village staff and consultant representations, and a line may form. The meeting will be held outdoors and all attendees must wear a mask and practice social distancing. No one will be allowed into the meeting without a mask.
In the event of rain or inclement weather, the meeting will be held on July 27, 2020 from 3:30 P.M. to 5:30 P.M. at the above location. The Village will post meeting updates on its social media platforms and this webpage.
