The Illinois Electric Service Customer Choice and Rate Relief Law of 1997 restructured the state’s electric service industry to allow a choice of electric suppliers. With electric choice, the electric supply may now be provided by different companies known as Retail Electric Suppliers (RESs). For more information about electricity choice, visit pluginillinois.org. The Village does not have a contract on behalf of residents with an electric supplier.
Income-eligible customers, veterans and deployed members of the military, and non-profit organizations may be eligible for hardship assistance grants of up to $2,000.
