Stormwater Improvement Project Update – January 2019

The Project Team is continuing to coordinate with Park District staff regarding the underground storage at the three parks. The Park District is planning workshops in the Spring of 2019 to gather input.  Please contact the Park District or visit their website for details.

Topographic, environmental and geotechnical surveys of the project corridors is ongoing.

The Project Team has presented in front of the Park District Board and Municipal Services Committee at their November and December meetings, respectively. Both bodies were in favor of moving the underground stormwater storage at Centennial Park to Community Playfield.  This will also be presented at the February 4, 2019 Committee of the Whole meeting.

Optimization of the stormwater improvement project has been completed. The optimization was completed to determine the most economical way to provide flood reduction benefits to the greatest number of residents.  The results will be discussed at a Committee of the Whole meeting on February 4, 2019 at 7:00 PM at Village Hall.

30% design of the first phase of the project (Phase 1A) is underway. This phase is being completed first as it consists of new storm sewers located all within the Village roadways.  It is anticipated that construction could begin on this phase in the Summer of 2019, pending permitting and other scheduling factors.

An exhibit showing the location of the Phase 1A storm sewers is shown below.
