Sewer Lateral Lining

The sewer lateral is the sewer pipe that connects your home plumbing with the main sewer in the street. Per the Village Code, this pipe and connection to the main is the maintenance responsibility of the home owner. Sewer lining uses a cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) as a non-invasive, cost-effective technique to repair and rehabilitate underground sewers. Sewer lining restores the structural integrity of the pipe and reduces stormwater infiltration through sealing open pipe joints, areas of root intrusion, and cracks. Sewer lining is completed without excavating the roadway, and the work can be completed in one day, rather than over an extended period with conventional methods like removal and replacement. The service life of CIPP is approximately 50 years.

In an effort to assist residents with finding a contractor to perform sewer lateral lining, the Village issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) to local sewer contractors. For more information, please contact the Engineering Department at 847-853-7600.
